Church of Uganda has dismissed claims circulating on social media alleging that the Archbishop, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, was attacked during a church service in Boston, United States of America.
In an official statement issued by the Provincial Secretary, Rev. Canon William Ongeng, the Church clarified that the reports are false and misleading.
According to the statement, the Archbishop is currently in the United States on official duties as part of his international ministry engagements.
During a recent service at St Peter’s Anglican Church in Boston, a brief disruption occurred when a small group of unidentified individuals attempted to cause a commotion.

“The situation was promptly contained, and the service resumed and concluded without further interruption,” the statement read.
The Church emphasized that at no point was the Archbishop attacked or harmed, contrary to claims widely shared online.
Archbishop Kaziimba remains safe and continues to carry out his scheduled ministry activities as part of his international visit.

The Church has urged the public to disregard the misleading claims, especially those aimed at causing unnecessary anxiety, and to rely on accurate and verified information.
In an interview with The Christian Post, Rev. Amos Kimera, the Rector of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Boston, clarified that the small group of individuals who attempted to cause a commotion during the Service are not members of their Christian community, but rather political activists reportedly sponsored by sources that are yet to be established.
During the service, Archbishop Kaziimba also presided over the baptism of children and confirmed five candidates into the Anglican faith.
He commended the parents for raising their children in a Christian manner and encouraged them to remain intentional in nurturing their spiritual growth.

He further charged the congregation, especially the newly confirmed, to cultivate the discipline of regularly reading the Bible as a foundation for spiritual maturity.
