Dear Bishop Kosea Odongo,
On behalf of the Archbishop of Church of Uganda, Bishops of the Church of Uganda, and the fraternity of all Laity of Church of Uganda, and myself, I take this opportunity to send our condolences to you, the Diocese and particularly to the family of Rev Canon Naphtali Opwata upon the calling back to glory of a father, friend and preacher of the word.
Canon Opwata was a member of the Provincial Assembly Standing Committee. He was a person of knowledge and wisdom whenever in our meetings and he exhibited maturity in his debate.
We stand with all in this time of grief and condole with all knowing that our labour in the Lord whom he served will not be for nothing but paid with a crown of glory.
The Lord gave to us Canon Opwata and the Lord has taken him back to glory. What can we say, the name of the Lord be praised.
The Lord will wipe away the tears of them who mourn.
To God be the Glory.
