Today (Friday 28th April 2023), His Grace the Archbishop of Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu began the Second day of his official pastoral visit in the Diocese of Kigezi with commissioning and laying foundation stones on the following projects;




1. Hamurwa Secondary School (The Classroom block was constructed by Mr. Benard Zimbehire, as part of his giving back to the community).
2. A fuel station in Hamurwa established by the Diocese to generate revenue for the Diocese and to support retired Clergy and other Church Ministers.
3. All Saints Church in Kabale Town.
4. All Saints Church Business Centre in the proximity of the Church as part of the Diocese’s self-sustainability agenda.
5. Archbishop Janani Luwum Memorial Secondary School in Kamuganguzi, Kabale District.
6. Kamuganguzi Archdeaconry Headquarters.
His Grace the Archbishop preached in a mini Service at Hamurwa Church, led a holy communion and thanksgiving service at All Saints Church in Kabale Town and later preached in a mini service at Kamuganguzi Archdeaconry Headquarters.
The Archbishop lauded the Diocese of Kigezi for establishing income generating projects, taking care of the boy child and urged Christians to desist from land grabbing.




He was accompanied by his Acting Chaplain, Rev. Samuel Kanyike; Church of Uganda’s Communications Officer, Mr. Sadiiki Adams and his Vehicle Evangelist (Driver), Ssalongo Godwin Atukwatiriire.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna and the Diocesan Head of Laity Lay Canon Johnson Munono, led the Diocesan leadership team.
Hon. David Bahati, Member of Parliament for Ndorwa West and Minister of State for Trade; Hon Prossy Begumisa the Rubanda Woman Member of Parliament; Kabale District Chairman Mr. Nelson Nshangabasheija, Rubanda District Chairman Mr. Ampaire Stephen Kasyaba, RDCs of Kabale and Rubanda Districts among others joined the Archbishop at different stations today.
He concluded his day with a radio program on Revival Radio.
Tomorrow (Saturday 29th April 2023), the Archbishop will conclude his visit with commissioning a block at Rugarama School of Nursing, the Diocesan Secretary’s House and a Service at St. Peters Cathedral Rugarama.
