Archbishop Arrives in Kotido for Consecration of New North Karamoja Bishop

KOTIDO: The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu has this evening arrived in North Karamoja Diocese ahead of the consecration and enthronement of Rev. Canon Simon Akol Aisu.

Archbishop Kaziimba will preside over Rev. Canon Aisu’s consecration and enthronement as the 2nd Bishop of North Karamoja Diocese on Sunday, 12th February 2023 at Christ Church Cathedral, Kotido.

On arrival, he was welcomed by the Diocesan Secretary, Mr. Ijala Simon Peter; the Diocesan Chancellor, Mr. Achock Abrahams; clergy and jubilant Christians at Kotido-Kaabong-Abim T-junction and later made a prayer stopover at Christ Church Cathedral in Kotido town.

He was accompanied by his Chaplain, Rev. Johnson Kansiime; the Provincial Secretary, Rev. Canon William Ongeng; the Provincial Treasurer, Mr. Balaam Muheebwa; the Communications Officer, Mr Sadiiki Adams among others.

Archbishop Kaziimba who took over episcopal leadership of the Diocese following the retirement of Rt Rev James Nasak, the first Diocesan Bishop on 27th December 2022, arrived today to assess the progress of the preparations for Sunday’s function.

The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to be the Chief Guest.
