ARCHBISHOP KAZIIMBA ARRIVES IN SOROTI DIOCESE FOR PASTORAL VISIT


SOROTI: The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu has this evening arrived in Soroti Diocese for his four days official pastoral visit.


On arrival, he was welcomed at Awoja bridge by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt Rev Kosea Odongo and Mama Grace Odongo, Clergy, Political leaders and jubilant Christians.


Before arriving in Soroti Diocese, Archbishop Kaziimba who is also the Chancellor of Uganda Christian University conferred degrees to 1006 graduands in the first part of the 24th Graduation Ceremony at the University Main Campus in Mukono.
He also joined the family of the Late Rev. James Kato Kisozi in his send off in Kitigoma near Mabira forest where he comforted the widow, Mama Robinah and the family.


Enroute to Soroti Diocese, he made a stopover in Kumi Diocese where Bishop Micheal Okwii Esakhan and jubilant Christians welcomed him. He visited Mukongoro Archdeaconry and he prayed for their new Church under construction .
This evening, Archbishop Kaziimba will have a radio talkshow on Voice of Teso.
Tomorrow, Saturday 29th July 2023, he will visit TEREWODE Fistula hospital, commission Alalo memorial technical institute in Kalaki constructed by C.O.U TEDO, lead Service at St. Andrew’s church of Uganda in Kalaki and conclude with a radio talk show on Etop radio in the evening.
On Sunday 30th July 2023, Archbishop Kaziimba will be the main Celebrant in a Holy Communion Service at St Peter’s Cathedral, Soroti and later visit St Peter’s Theological College.
On Monday 31st. July 2023, he will commission the newly constructed lecture theatres at Kyambogo University , Soroti study centre 8am lead Service at St Andrew’s church of Uganda Amuria and later lead Service at St. Paul’s church of Uganda Katakwi.
During his visit, he will minister to pupils , students and staff of institutions, Soroti City and District political and technical leaders, Diocesan Clergy and Lay staff and perform a number of other ministerial obligations.
