Day One in Kigezi: Archbishop Kaziimba Launches Church Projects, Meets Dignitaries

On the first day of his official pastoral visit in the Diocese of Kigezi today (Thursday 27th April 2023), the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu assisted by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, laid foundation stones on the following Churches:

1. Kakamba Church of Uganda

2. All Saints Rwamatunguru Church of Uganda (which is being constructed by Dr. Sylvia Tumuheirwe Alinaitwe, the Deputy Managing Director of National Water and Sewerage Corporation and her husband, Prof. Henry Alinaitwe Mwanaki the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration at Makerere University).

He also visited Buhangizi Archdeaconry Headquarters where he led a Mini Service.

The Archbishop was received by the Area Members of Parliament; Hon Caroline Kamusiime (Rukiga District Woman MP) and Hon. Rolland Ndyomugyenyi Bish (Rukiga Country MP).

He concluded his day with a courtesy visit to Bishop Emeritus George and Mama Chris Bagamuhunda.

Tomorrow (Friday), the Archbishop will open the Diocesan Secretary’s House, visit Hamurwa Parish in Nyaruhanga Archdeaconry and lay a dedication stone for the Vocational School and a Petrol Station before leading Service.

He will later head to All Saints Church in Kabale Town where he will tour its town center building under construction, lay a dedication stone and lead Service.

Later, he will proceed to Kamuganguzi Archdeaconry where he will lay a foundation stone and lead Service before heading back to Kabale Town where he will lay a foundation stone for Rugarama School of Nursing Building.

The Archbishop is expected to have a radio talkshow on Revival Radio tomorrow (Friday) at 8PM.
