DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
The Bishop of the Diocese of Kumi, Rt Rev Micheal Okwi Esarkan, has this morning announced the death of The Rt. Rev Thomas Edison Irigei, Retired and First Bishop of The Diocese Of Kumi.
His Statement was as follows;
Your Grace ,The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, Brother Bishops and Maamas, all Christians and people of God Almighty, We, Michael Kumi announce the news of going home to the Lord of Papa, The First and Retired Bishop( Bishop Emeritus ) of the Diocese of Kumi , The Rt. Rev. Thomas Edison Irigei who rested early this morning shorty after midnight this morning Tuesday 5th December 2023.
We are greatly saddened by this news but mourn as Paul instructs us in 1Thess. 4:13 f ; with hope that He has gone to be with the Lord ( Luke 23: 43).
We thank God Almighty for the gift of His life Salvation, calling and ministry as a Christian, Lay Reader, a chaplain , Parish Priest , Bishop of the Diocese of Kumi and former Provincial Dean of the Province of Church of Uganda .
We associate with the entire body of Christ, His family Toto Jennifer and family , and the entire body of Christ in the diocese of Kumi.

His Grace the Archbishop of Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, all the incumbent House of Bishops and Maamas and all Retired Bishops and Maamas , all the Clergy ,Lay Readers and the entire body of Christ in Uganda and people of God in the diocese of Kumi & Teso and All our religious & political leaders in Diocese of Kumi and Teso.
The detailed approved burial program shall be communicated to you in due course.
