It has come to our attention that the Bukedde Newspaper in its edition of Friday, August 9th, 2024, published a misleading and alarming headline stating: “Balumbye ewa Dr. Kaziimba ne batta omukumi,” which translates to “Dr. Kaziimba’s residence attacked, watchman killed.”
We wish to clarify that this report is inaccurate. While an incident did occur at one of the Archbishop’s properties in Upper Kauga, Mukono Central Division, Mukono Municipality, this location is not the Archbishop’s private residence. The Archbishop’s official residence in Namirembe and his private home remain secure, and the Archbishop, along with his family, is safe and unharmed.
We appreciate the concern shown by those who reached out to us and assure the public that the situation is under control. Security agencies are actively investigating the matter, and we remain confident in their efforts to maintain the safety and security of all affected.
We strongly urge Bukedde Newspaper to refrain from publishing inaccurate and sensationalist headlines that cause unnecessary fear and anxiety within the community.
